About the Job
Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Technical Sales Associate is to manage bid lists, securing plans and specifications, generating take-offs and project estimates, technical sales support for both Outside Sales team and respective contractors and managing projects to ensure profit targets are obtained
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain and review project plans and specifications to determine specific product and services to be included in a binding estimate per the established guidelines.
- Obtain special quotations from manufacturers as required for products while maintaining competitive pricing levels and to maximize gross margins.
- Coordinate prior approval requests with the engineering services department.
- Populate job tracking system with pertinent information including basis of design info, quote values, etc.
- Prepare complete and accurate engineering submittals for product being ordered.
- Answer application and technical questions as well as general customer service questions from mechanical contractors.
- Prepare and generate orders to manufacturers for products being provided on awarded projects.
- Manage logistics to ensure product arrives at job site when required.
- Maintain proper margin levels and job accuracy to ensure that projects are billed correctly.
- Partner with Outside Sales Force and keep them informed concerning product availability, shipping schedules, and over-all job status.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Works cooperatively with others

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or equivalent work experience
- Commercial HVAC project management experience preferred
- Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel as well as ability to learn job specific software programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Travel Requirement:
- 5% travel to branches and other operating companies requiring some overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and training requiring some extended stay
