Job DescriptionThe Technical Sales Coordinator (TSC) is responsible for the smooth and seamless internal machine order routing from order receipt to shipment. This position coordinates with all levels of the organization to ensure that both the company and customer expectations are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sales Support
- Provides support to Director Sales & Marketing, Regional Sales Managers, and Sales Project Engineers in promoting the sale of blow molding machinery and systems.
- Assists in the quoting process, conducting research and providing specialized information to support sales estimates.
- Utilizes previous pricing data and drawings for specialized equipment in conjunction with drawings and included with quotes in support of concepts recommended.
- Coordinates with production and other departments, gathers information, and conducts research to assess lead times on new builds at time of quotation.
- Creates engineering requests (ER) for special machine features and covers a customer quote.
- Works with Sales Administrator on development and maintenance of database for configuration on the mainframe.
- Reviews trade journals to stay current with state-of-the-art technologies, competitive activities and marketing/sales information.
Machine Orders:
- Coverts sold machine orders into the Machine Order Specification Sheet (MOSS) utilizing the machine quote, order confirmation and purchase order.
- Supports engineering, production control and production in utilization of the MOSS to build machines.
- Reviews past machine MOSS and punch lists for any additional changes, references machine manuals for modifications in the field and coordinates with the Service Manager to resolve issues or concerns.
- Leads MOSS meeting with engineering and production, establishes meeting minutes, identifies open issues and distributes post meeting assignments.
- Communicates MOSS changes with the sales project manager, amends quotes as needed, and adds changes to specifications.
- Liaison between engineering and the customer in obtaining time sensitive approvals needed for machine layouts, including any revisions.
Project Management:
- Provides regular status updates on machine orders in the system, timeline specific to work in progress and projected completions.
- Communicates timely, accurate project updates between engineers, sales and the customer, including Gantt charting. Updates include major milestones supported by photos of machine build progress and explanations of each stage.
- Schedules machine acceptance, acceptance materials, and customer arrival.
Run-Off/Acceptance & Shipment:
- Liaison between engineering, production, applications and service departments for pending machine Run-off/Acceptance and customer arrival.
- Provides continual support for customers and salesperson throughout machine acceptance process.
- Assigns CSM numbers to track customer supplier components while in house.
- Works with salesperson to facilitate order confirmation review with the customer.
- Establishes and maintains mutually agreed upon post acceptance punch list to be utilized by BAC for handling prior to shipment.
- Coordinates shipping arrangements with materials department and confirms cost and tracking with customer location.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree or two (2) year technical degree from college or university; or two (2) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
