The Cyber Security Analyst will provide day-to-day technical support for clients at NYCDOT. This role includes support for desktop PCs, laptops, and tablets, as well as assistance with mission-critical applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology and contribute significantly to our IT support team. Under this position, the responsibilities will include and are not limited to:
- Deliver IT support for the desktop PCs, laptops, and tablets, both in person and remotely in agency
- Provide hands-on assistance for MS Office 365 and DOT applications.
- Implement cyber security measures across all endpoint devices agency-wide.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, networks, and cyber security.
- Ensure to provide excellent customer service and support for end users.
- Conduct training sessions to explain security measures and raise awareness of malware and phishing threats in simple terms.
- Install, upgrade, and support Windows 10 and 11 operating system, along with other authorized applications for desktop PCs and laptops.
- Diagnose and address anti-virus and malware issues, including scanning, quarantining, and removing threats.
- Update security patches for endpoint devices.
- Perform IT hardware asset management and ensure compliance with inventory management SOPs.
- Serve as a backup onsite support technician across all agency sites in five boroughs.
- Utilize MS Intune to manage and troubleshoot laptops and tablets for field inspectors and staff who work from home
Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree, from an accredited college including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and three years of satisfactory experience in any of the areas described in “1” above; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2”, above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in “2” above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. In addition, twenty-four (24) credits from an accredited college or graduate school in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or a certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming from an accredited technical school (post high school), may be substituted for one year of experience.
