Position: Technical Theatre Manager - Part Time (Posting number 2425-3144)
Location: District Wide
Start Date: ASAP
Requirements:
+ To perform a variety of technical and managerial tasks relative to the preparation and production of school and community events held at both the High School and Middle School
+ To serve as a consultant to District teachers and to help them with theatrical events
Role and Responsibilities: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills:
+ Technical training and/or successful theatrical production/theatre management experience working with light and sound equipment for stage
+ Knowledge of the varieties of theatre offered; such as dance, drama and musical performances ?
Essential Duties:
+ Coordinate auditorium calendar (with building secretaries, music lead teacher, A/V coordinator and principal) and facilitate communication with individuals and groups requesting use of the auditorium for performing arts events.
+ Manage the use, design and movement of all lighting, sound and stage elements for events that require audio and/or visual equipment.
+ Serve as, or collaborate with Technical Director for theatre productions; to include organizing and assigning approved operators and crew
+ Attend, manage and supervise all productions and special events within the designated calendar that require use of audio and/or visual equipment.
+ Inventory related supplies and equipment; advising Administration of needs for repairs and/or purchases to maintain the performing arts facility
+ Oversee the care and maintenance of performing facilities by working with custodial crew and buildings and grounds to ensure they are in safe, working order
+ Coordinating annual inspections for stage and lighting equipment for warranty purposes
+ Act as the liaison with community groups who call with facilities-use questions
+ Collaborate with outside users/rentals to determine production requirements
+ Set-up and run sound and lights for outside/community performance events
+ Conduct in-service training regarding specific instruction of lights and sound to staff
+ Other related duties as required
