AMSG seeks a Technical Writer/Editor with U.S. Army TRADOC or other DoD command experience in developing and editing executive level briefings and presentations, and military doctrine.

Location: Fort Eustis, VA
Education: BS/BA Degree desired
Years of Experience: 5 years of writing and editing executive level military briefings, correspondence, doctrinal manuals and publications (U.S. Army preferred)
Clearance Requirements: DoD Secret clearance is required.
Job Type: Full Time, on-site
General Description: Responsible for preparation, research, drafting, review, revision, and documenting written content of various topics aligned to support the TRADOC Knowledge Management (KM) program. Write and edit documentation, format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources, to include executive level briefings and presentations, in support of the TRADOC KM Program.
Specific Duties:
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to create and edit written content for various KM initiatives
- Review & edit high quality, executive level briefings, befitting a 4-star command, including written content, briefing materials, speaker notes, marketing graphics
- Write and edit communications material including but not limited to print and online articles, blog posts and website content
- Review & edit training and professional development content
- Attend and/or review recordings of client meetings and produce minutes
- Help with content strategy and contribute creative ideas for campaigns
Additional Requirements:
- Experience drafting, writing & editing military doctrine, regulation & pamphlets
- Experience producing or editing briefings and correspondence for or on behalf of senior leaders (4-star HQ preferred)
- Consistent track record of meeting deadlines
- Working familiarity with military writing standards (e.g. AR 25-50, Preparing and Managing Correspondence)
- Working familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
- Working familiarity with AP Stylebook
- Working familiarity with US Army AP Stylebook Quick Reference (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word and Power Point in performance of job providing technical drafting of executive level briefings and correspondence
- Experience using Microsoft Excel
- Experience with SharePoint Online, organizing libraries and content (Preferred)
