Job Title: Technical Writer (Internal Engineering Documentation)

Project Overview:
The Internal Developer Relations team documents engineering platforms, frameworks, libraries, and custom tools used to develop large-scale web and mobile apps.
Overall Responsibilities
As a Technical Writer for internal engineering content, you will design, develop, launch, and maintain highly technical content for engineers. Your role involves tasks such as writing conceptual overviews and procedures, writing code walkthroughs, or updating existing documents. These documents communicate complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and without relying on jargon.
You will also be managing a large number of documentation sets, mobilizing engineers to write content, and researching information from various sources, quickly establishing and maintaining relationships with partners, identifying requirements, and managing multiple and potentially inconsistent sources of content.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
- Manage large and complex documentation projects, collaborate with engineers to create content, and drive a culture of documentation in various engineering teams.
- Organize information in an easily discoverable, coherent, and intuitive fashion.
- Learn complex technical information and create well-written technical documentation for engineers, such as architectural overviews, tutorials for software developers, debugging guides, and more.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience (3 years of writing developer guides).
- At least 3 years experience working with engineering and product management teams as part of the software development process.
- Experience reading and understanding source code written in Java, C++, JavaScript, or Objective C.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and Markdown.
- Highly motivated and self-directed. Strong collaboration and project management skills.
- Understand highly technical concepts and create content that explain them clearly
- Ability to learn new authoring tools
- Proven track record of researching and writing effective documentation for engineers; experience writing for internal audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Proficiency in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Experience with command-line Git and GitHub
