Requirements
- Active Secret clearance
- Three (3) years of experience as a Technical Writer under the Department of Defense / Government umbrella
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience)
- Experience drafting and editing complex technical documentation to include contract deliverables, system training guides, and user manuals
- Proficiency in creating, editing, and formatting documents in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe
- Customer-focused and a self-starter
Desired Skills
- Experience using automated deliverable tracking and submission tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or experience with other project schedule software
- Prior military experience working with C4ISR systems or previous work experience supporting similar systems for the DOD
- Knowledge / experience with DOD Policies & Procedures
- Experience with drafting & editing proposals or technical documents for Test & Evaluation, Cybersecurity, Software, Logistics, Configuration Management, System Integration, Engineering, System Administrative Guides, Interactive User Manuals, Test Plans, or Test Reports
Description
- Preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
- Developing various technical and programmatic documents with support from subject matter experts and engineers
- Ensuring technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets government specifications, and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style
- Writing and editing technical documentation for hardware and software to include installation, configuration, and how-to documentation
- Supporting white papers, proposal development, or other technical papers as needed
- Supporting training documentation development to include slide presentations, user guides, and IETMs
