About the Job
The Technical Writer, Software Engineering is responsible for documenting complex distributed software systems, applications and services for diverse audiences. The candidate will work closely with members of the software engineering, product development and other information technology departments to ensure technical documentation is accurate and functional for all audiences.

- Creates and maintains technical documentation for a portfolio of technology platforms, services and applications.
- Documents complex technical subjects for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintains effective communication with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Assists in the definition and maintenance of technical documentation standards and templates.
- Collects and applies user feedback to determine areas of documentation that need revision and/or improvement.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

- Write user-friendly, concise, engaging copy about technical subjects including the use of visual aids (diagrams, infographics, etc).
- Understand and accurately translate technical information from subject matter experts.
- Communicate in written and oral format with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate across a diverse set technology disciplines and experts.
- Learn and understand technology and mortgage industry concepts.
- Assist and support others with technical documentation.
- Ability to undertake multiple projects, manage expectations, and delivery on deadlines.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration architecture patterns and service-oriented architecture principles, preferred.
- Knowledge of information security, compliance, and other assurance standards, preferred.
- Knowledge of data management platforms and tools, preferred.
- Knowledge of mortgage industry concepts and processes, preferred.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud compute, integration, database, storage, security and management services, preferred.
- Knowledge of web based single page applications (SPAs) and native/hybrid mobile applications for iOS and Android devices, preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) + years or more experience creating and maintaining technical documentation for complex cloud scale, distributed, multitier software applications and services.
- Experience with Atlassian (specifically Confluence and JIRA) or comparable documentation publishing suite
- Experience with agile methodology and software development lifecycle.
