About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in documenting cybersecurity and software development processes, with a deep understanding of US government cybersecurity standards and regulations. This role requires a Secret clearance and involves creating detailed documentation, training materials, and compliance tracking tools to support our cybersecurity initiatives.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Secret clearance.
Rate: $35 - $50 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive documentation of policies, processes, and procedures.
- Create engaging training materials tailored to specific cybersecurity roles.
- Document existing cybersecurity workflows with precision.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance tracking tools.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Department of State IT Governance Framework.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer documenting cybersecurity or software development processes.
- Experience with US government cybersecurity standards, regulations, and documentation requirements.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, software development principles, and technical terminology.
Desired Skills:
- Certifications in technical writing or cybersecurity.
- Prior experience using FAM/FAH to document processes and procedures.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
