Overview
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine as well as non-routine maintenance on all associated process equipment.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Mechanic - Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Determining the cause of equipment breakdowns using troubleshooting methods; fixing the issues within scope of role. When necessary, escalating issues to the appropriate next level including ideas for resolving the problem.
- Regularly using hand tools, powered tools, electronic testing equipment or other means to repair breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, complete work orders and check equipment.
- Following scheduled preventive maintenance procedures and reporting any necessary repairs that fall outside of preventative maintenance.
- Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Completing documentation related to closing work orders and equipment testing.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid Drivers License
- All candidates must pass a detailed written and practical exam to be considered
- Strong mechanical aptitude - Skills and knowledge of technical crafts including millwright, pipe fitting, insulating, basic scaffold building and carpentry a plus
- Welding and machinist experience are a plus
- Industrial Maintenance Mechanic experience a plus
- Understands the maintenance work processes and standard maintenance practices
- Identifies emerging issues - Perform level CRCA’s – Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to prioritize work as well as work well with others
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Environmental and physical requirements of this position include but aren’t limited to:
- Overtime
- Moving and carrying parts up to 50 lbs
- Using stairs and ladders
- Working in confined spaces
- Working at elevated heights
- Standing, walking and climbing stairs and ladders
- Regular crouching
- Ability to wear a partial respirator to protect against dust and fumes
