Responsibilities:
- Set up fixtures/tooling for the machines
- Write new programs or change programs for the machines for the development of new products / processes
- Troubleshoot problems with the machines to identify quality and productivity issues
- Operate machines for machining, balancing, and drilling
- Perform visual inspection and measurement process of incoming castings to verify their quality
- Perform preventative and non-preventative maintenance on the machines
- Handle waste materials from the processes
- Receive incoming packages and prepare and ship packages for shipment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to produce high quality products that meet specification
- Ability to maintain an accurate production schedule
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to effectively integrate performance planning and development processes
- Ability to complete all tasks in a timely manner under limited supervision
- Knowledge of quality systems
- Knowledge of measuring equipment
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
- Accurately count and perform basic math functions, including mental calculation of simple equations and/or fractions.
- Proficient in English (reading and writing).
