Technician Supervisor, EMS (Energy Management Systems) - Cordoba Corporation

About the Job
The EMS Supervisor will act as the subject matter expert in Energy Management Systems (EMS). This individual will oversee the installation, turnover, and use of our EMS controls systems. The EMS Supervisor will work with the LAUSD Technical Quality Support Team (TQST) and use the EMS to encourage preventative maintenance, identify potential energy conservation measures, and suggest facility improvements.
Responsibilities:- Performs HVAC Controls Design reviews.
- Performs HVAC Controls Submittal review.
- Reviews utility data and energy usage to identify schools for recommissioning and retro commissioning.
- Reviews EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify no cost/low-cost energy conservation measures.
- Reviews EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify preventive maintenance measures.
- Reviews newly turned over schools’ energy usage versus benchmarks in design to verify performance.
- Assists in updating controls specifications to meet new federal, state or local codes/standards
- Assists with implementing requirements to allow for integration of other controls systems (Lighting, Irrigation, PV) with EMS.
- Assists in creation of district standard control sequences of operations.
- Assists with drafting controls shop drawings and sequences of operations for small controls upgrade projects.
- Reviews feasibility of retro commissioning measures.
- Assists in managing In-House Commissioning Projects
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s or associate degree in
- engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical, information technology) OR two-year technical degree in HVAC, Electronics-related studies with additional 2 years of experience to compensate for education on a year-for-year basis
- Minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in building controls or a related field
- Experience with programming and controls database management
- Comprehensive understanding of computer networking principles, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Competent knowledge and proficiency with HVAC operations within a facility
- Experience in creating and adjusting sequences of operations, shop drawings, and project specifications
Preferred:
- Experience working with multiple controls manufacturers including Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane
- Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases
- Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites
- Extensive experience in performing or assisting in performance of commissioning of EMS
Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000
