The Park School is a Pre-K to Grade 8 independent school in Brookline, MA dedicated to excellence in education. The Technology Support Associate is a 12-month entry-level position in the School’s technology department, reporting to the Director of Institutional Technology. The ideal candidate will bring a history of collaborative self-directed work to assist the Technology department administratively. The ideal candidate will also have previous experience working within schools and draw upon that understanding to support and anticipate the needs of The Park School community.
Responsibilities |
- Monitor and maintain school computers, iPads, Chromebooks, printers, and displays
- Manage help desk requests via online ticketing system
- Provide tech support for a wide range of constituencies including faculty, staff, students, and parents
- Assist with maintaining the technology inventory
- Coordinate deployment of Park’s iPad program
- Manage student device loaner program
- Assist with user account(s) management and upkeep
- Interface with vendors and other third-party service providers
- Coordinate the technology needs of the school’s summer programs
- Support for special events (AV and other presentation needs)
Knowledge and Skills |
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Eager to learn new and complex technology and willingness to pursue professional development opportunities
- Apple operating systems, applications, and products experience preferred
- MDM systems (Mosyle) experience preferred
- Chromebook management through Google Admin experience preferred
- Google Apps for Education
- Experience with printers, projectors, and display systems
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in teaching and learning & experience in working in a culturally diverse community
Qualifications and Abilities |
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience in an academic setting, preferred
- The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 30-minute periods of time.
- The ability to traverse on and across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring, stairs, turf, gravel, asphalt, etc.).
- The ability to position oneself (e.g., stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down) in order to support students.
- The ability to work outdoors, year-round, in variable weather conditions.
- The ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overhead.
- The ability to occasionally transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbs
- The ability to maintain focus and composure in an energetic and, at times, loud environment
- The ability to hold meetings in person and via supported video conference tools (i.e. Zoom or Google Meet)
- Proficient or the ability to learn Google tools and other applications as adopted by the school, such as Veracross, SchoolPass, Atlas etc.
