SUMMARY: Assembles and builds-out telecommunications devices, cabinets, and assemblies that are mechanical or electro-mechanical in configuration; typically containing a rack or cabinet, electronic equipment and components, power systems, batteries, shelves, brackets, assemblies, alarms, cabling and other associated telecommunications devices.
• Familiarity with wireless or wireline service provider infrastructure deployments and installations is a plus
• Familiarity with equipment wiring and cabling including AC, DC, ground, RF, Coax, ethernet, fiber, multi-pair, and other similar cabling.
• Perform basic assembly, installation (rack-and-stack), and cabling (power, ground, signaling) of Telecommunications gear, racks, power components, and other equipment.
• Create and install power and signal cabling, including lugs, heat-shrink, RJ45 connectors, alarm connections, dressing, labeling, lacing, and similar cable installation activities
• Familiar with general Telecom industry installation safety and outage protocol requirements
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must practice quality awareness and have the ability to implement quality control processes and procedures.
• Must learn and demonstrate the proper use of tools associated with assembly-wire-test; hand tools, power tools, and task specific tooling
• Performs unpacking, checking for damaged product, inventory of all job-related materials.
• Under supervision, performs assigned physical and mechanical assembly activities, including cabling, power connections and grounding.
