SUMMARY:
Builds-out telecommunications devices and assemblies that are mechanical or electro-mechanical in configuration; typically containing a rack or cabinet, shelves, antennas, radios, brackets, assemblies, alarms, cabling and other associated telecommunications devices. These assemblies may need to be fully populated and complex in nature and are assembled with attention to detail and quality needed to meet or exceed KGP and customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Minimally supervised mechanical assembly activities, including cabling, power connections and grounding.
- Fabricate and install power and signal cabling, including lugs, RJ45 connectors, alarm connections, dressing, labeling, lacing, and similar cable installation activities
- Install and connect complex electronic equipment using anti-static discharge protocols.
- Practice quality awareness and have the ability to implement quality control processes and procedures.
- Understand and follow KGP Safety practices.
- Learn and demonstrate the proper use of tools associated with assemble-wire-test.
- Unpacking, checking for damaged product, inventory of all job-related materials.
- Reads and stays current on KGP AWT assemble practices and documentation to include interpretation of Engineering drawings, specifications and prints.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School graduate or GED equivalent or possess moderate electromechanical assembly experience.
- Responsibilities include knowledge of and experience with assembly and construction of electromechanical devices for rack, cabinet and enclosure products.
- Employee inventories hardware materials including receipt, inspection for damage or defect and confirms counts; physically builds the assembly following customer’s engineering specifications and drawings with minimal guidance from AWT Supervisor.
- Requires demonstrated ability to learn and understand basic electromechanical processes.
- Requires ability to learn, read and understand technical drawings, schematics and documentation; must have the ability to learn electrical color codes.
- Minimum of two years of Telecommunications Installation Tech 2 time in grade or documented proficiency before eligible for promotion to Telecommunications Installation Tech 3.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
