Job Title: OSP Support (CDL A)

Job Summary: We are one of the largest telecommunication vendors in the DMV area with a significant presence across the East Coast, is seeking a skilled and reliable OSP Helper with a CDL A license. This role is crucial for supporting our outside plant (OSP) construction crews in both wireline and wireless sectors. The ideal candidate will have over two years of experience in the construction/telecommunications industry, specifically in aerial or underground support roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CDL A vehicles as the primary responsibility.
- Assist with open trenching, PVC pipe laying, and cable/conduit runs.
- Handle and manage equipment, including Boom Trucks and excavation machinery.
- Support the loading and offloading of small cell equipment, such as pole mounts, base units, generators, and restoration materials.
- Act as the lead’s “Right Hand” to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Be open to learning and assisting with other technologies during downtime.
Top Skills:
- Over 2 years of experience in a support role within the construction/telecommunications industry (aerial or underground).
- Proficiency with various levels of OSP machinery (e.g., Boom Truck, Excavation, CDL).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
Secondary Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with underground telecommunications/utility excavation.
- Familiarity with small cell deployment teams.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL A license.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to operate hand tools and equipment safely.
- Reliable transportation.

Work Environment:
- Work in teams of three, including a helper, tech II, and foreman.
- 100% outdoor work, Monday to Friday, typically from 7 am to 3 pm.
- The new “yard” is in White Marsh, MD, with the option to take trucks home if more convenient.
Business Drivers/Customer Impact: We are a major player in the wireless industry, supporting massive 5G, IoT, and Smart City initiatives. To keep up with the workload for the next 5-10 years, we need to expand our field workforce to meet timelines and effectively deploy networks for major carriers. These crews will specifically support the underground backbone/infrastructure
