ROOT//SOURCE is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems
- Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes
- Load and configure cloud servers and vendor (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) or white box routers and switches
- Support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services
- Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience with providing technical support for the engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the communication field
- Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches
- Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent networking equipment
- Experience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker
- Experience with Linux or OpenStack
- Knowledge of telephony and telecommunication
- Knowledge of networking services
- Knowledge of software defined networking
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent preferred
- RHCSA preferred
- HS diploma or GED
Compensation:
The annualized salary range for this position based on full time employment is $125,000-$200,000.
