About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Telemetry Float **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Night Shifts, Every Other Weekend **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in acute care **License:** Active RN License **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), COVID Vaccine Required **Must-Have:** - At least 2 years of acute care experience - Ability to titrate drips within set guidelines - Experience with telemetry and reading strips **Job Description:** - Provide nursing care in telemetry units across multiple specialties including surgical, long-term care, general medical, cardiac, neuro, and ortho/spine. - Be prepared to float to different units based on staffing needs. - Administer and titrate medications such as Insulin, Heparin, Nitro, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Cardizem according to departmental guidelines. - Work with CPAP, Bipap, and trach patients; no ventilator experience required. - Collaborate with telemetry technicians for remote monitoring and verify strip measurements. - Take on roles as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or entrance screener if required. - Follow the 1:4-5 RN-to-patient ratio and work closely with CNAs who manage an 8-11 patient ratio. - Participate in a rotating holiday schedule and be on-call up to 4 times during the contract. - Engage in a comprehensive orientation across various med-surg units and uphold high standards of care. - Complete charting and documentation accurately using the designated electronic medical record system. Please note that floating, shift changes, dress code adherence, and other responsibilities may be necessary as per the needs of the nursing division.
