The salary range for this position is $45-50 per hour based upon a San Francisco location. Offered salary is dependent upon experience and location. Kendo Brands has a hybrid work model with three days in office and two days remote each week.
SUMMARY
This role supports multiple brands, splitting time between Fenty Beauty and Fenty Eau de Parfum, and Lip Lab. On Fenty, you support the Fenty Beauty and Fenty EDP copy team on product naming, packaging copy, visual merchandising, and other marketing collateral. On Lip Lab, you own all global and digital copy, creating copy for product launches, new store launches, e-commerce and social. You are a talented and inspired writer with excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects with ease. When you need additional information to complete a project, you're quick to ask questions and find solutions. In Kendo's fast-paced world, you take ownership of your projects and produce quality work under short deadlines. And of course, you love makeup and fragrance with a passion!
This role reports to the Sr. Copywriter, Fenty Beauty, and to the Sr. Director of Copy for Lip Lab.
- Writes on-brand copy across all channels
- Attends project kick-offs, examines various types of project briefs, paying close attention to marketing objectives and copy requests
- Executes clean, detail-oriented, on-brief copy for retail, digital and 360 marketing projects, including video scripts and treatments
- Works closely with brand management, marketing, product development, and education teams to align feedback, presenting any issues to manager
- Partners with the design team to ensure copy is correctly flowed into design and finds integrated visual/copy solutions
- Takes ownership of deadlines and follows project schedules and updates
- Requests and manages copy translations for the brand
- Corresponds with legal to acquire necessary trademark clearance
- Stays current on beauty industry trends, social trends and competitors
REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years of copywriting experience; beauty experience preferred
- Celebrity and founder brand experience a plus
- Experience writing across traditional and digital channels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creative self-starter; ability to navigate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Curiosity, intellect, and a passion for great ideas; ability to bring them to life is essential
- College degree: BA preferred
