Job Description Summary
The Technology Operations Strategist plays a critical role within the Employer Engagement team. This role primarily focuses on advancing office-wide initiatives while supporting the management of our vendor relationship with our primary platform, 12Twenty (12T), and serving as a backup Relationship Manager.
Job Description
Serving as a secondary contact and supporting the vendor relationship with 12Twenty, the Technology Operations Strategist will ensure that all (new and old) features and functionalities of the platform are fully leveraged to meet the needs of various stakeholders, including full-time MBA students, Wharton Executive MBA (WEMBA) students, alumni, employers, and staff. They regularly communicate with the vendor to stay updated on new features, enhancements, and best practices.
Managing continuous development and customization requests, the Technology Operations Strategist identifies and prioritizes development and customization needs for the 12Twenty platform to ensure it aligns with MBACM’s goals and strategic initiatives. They oversee the development of features such as CareerPath Connections, the Employer Relations Module, Alumni Career Experts, and APIs for integrating with Wharton’s data warehouse and Salesforce. They collaborate with the 12Twenty development team to ensure customizations are built and deployed accurately and efficiently. They also monitor and test new features and customizations to ensure they function correctly and meet user needs.
To support new MBACM staff the Technology Operations Strategist leads comprehensive training programs and updates training materials. They conduct regular training sessions to onboard new Relationship Managers and update existing staff on new features and best practices. They create user guides, video tutorials, and other resources to support ongoing staff training and development.
Handling administrative tasks related to 12T Support, the Technology Operations Strategist manages the 12Twenty Support ticket system, ensuring that all reported issues and system errors are addressed promptly. They track and document support tickets, providing detailed information to the 12Twenty support team for efficient resolution. They follow up with MBACM staff to ensure that issues are resolved to their satisfaction and that any necessary training or support is provided.
In addition to the 12T-related responsibilities, the Technology Operations Specialist will serve as a backup Relationship Manager by supporting and managing the recruitment plans of a diverse set of employers. This role works in significant partnership with Senior Associate Directors on Industry Team(s) to add insights to employer conversations from student advising, and vice versa, to foster data-driven, company-specific, recruiting strategies.
This highly collaborative role sits at the intersection of students and employers and plays a significant role in driving student placement success and student satisfaction with MBACM. This position will work to plan and deliver personalized recruiting plans based on the unique talent and timeline needs of the employer including hosting both small-scale intimate and large-scale comprehensive events such as informational panels, small group lunches, and other events that support employer brand and educate about industries and roles.
The Technology Operations Specialist manages records in the 12T recruiting platform (CareerPath) utilized by all recruiters and students, including requests for in-person and virtual engagement such as job postings, events, interview schedules, coffee chats, and First-Year Recruiting Kick-off Week. The Technology Operations Specialist is responsible for scheduling interviews and signups for employer recruiting and student-to-alumni connectivity events, with a high degree of attention to detail to ensure student and employer recruiting success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. A minimum of three to five years of prior work experience in MBA recruiting services or direct industry experience. A strong customer service mentality and client management skills including solid presentation and outstanding inter- personal skills as well as ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent organizational capabilities, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of team in order to support both students and employers. A solid understanding of career development and recruiting process or related areas in either business or in an academic setting. Good knowledge of business and business careers along with strong written and oral communication skills. Highly skilled at using PC-based systems/applications and prior experience with internet based research. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills desired. Must be flexible and respect confidentiality.
