The Center for Humanities & the Arts is encouraging applications for The Program Manager position! This role works closely with the Faculty Director of the CHA to manage the Center's programming & operations and provide fiscal and administrative leadership to meet the mission of the CHA. The Program Manager will facilitate the day-to-day management of the Center, connect with students as well as other CU departments, programs, and centers, while working collaboratively with the Graduate School, VCAA Financial Service Center (FSC), Human Resources Service Center (HRSC), Advancement, and other academic and administrative offices.

Who We Are
Established in 1997, the Center for Humanities & the Arts supports research and creative work in the arts and humanities for faculty and graduate students across the university, particularly within the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Music, the University Libraries, and the College of Media, Communication, and Information. The mission of the CHA is to foster community, support collaborations, and encourage creativity and research in the arts and humanities, while promoting equity, inclusion, and academic excellence. To support our mission the CHA holds competitions for grants and fellowships for faculty, students, and staff that enables them to engage and/or complete their arts and humanities projects/research. The CHA also operates the Hazel Barnes Flat in London, which provides lodging for faculty, staff, and students pursuing or communicating research in the UK. The CHA reports to the Dean of the Graduate School and is guided by an external advisory board.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
_Programming:_
+ In partnership with the Faculty Director, ensures successful implementation and completion of program activities, such as fellowships & grants, faculty & student awards, and community outreach.
+ Coordinates all application materials regarding nominations, award letters, grants, and fellowships distributed to faculty, students, and staff.
+ Supervises management and scheduling of the Hazel Barnes Flat in London, by processing approximately 60-65 applications for research use annually, collecting occupancy agreements, advising occupants on rules and procedures, and communicating with the flat property manager as needed.
+ Collaborates with the Faculty Director in developing and implementing programming initiatives and policy decisions.
_Operations:_
+ Works closely with Faculty Director on implementing the CHA's mission and vision and establishing internal processes and procedures to ensure delivery of services and objectives.
+ Leads daily CHA operations including the supervision of office staff, which includes a full-time Communication & Event Coordinator and one to four student employees.
+ Serves as point of contact for inquiries, maintains supplies and equipment, and leads subscriptions and memberships.
+ Coordinates HR needs for the center, including hiring, onboarding and training, performance management processes, terminations, and maintains department personnel files.
+ Supports CHA's Faculty Steering Committee, Community Advisory Board, and a variety of awards committees; schedules and attends meetings, takes minutes; prepares and distributes forms and information packets; and implements decisions.
+ Serves as primary liaison to campus service units, including but not limited to Parking & Transportation Services, Facilities Management (FM) and Office of Information Technology (OIT).
+ Serves as liaison between Faculty Director and other departments including the Graduate School, College of Arts & Sciences and CU Office of Advancement.
+ Supports the center under the CHA umbrella, the Center for British and Irish Studies (CBIS).
_Finance & Development:_
+ Coordinates with the Graduate School and FSC to transfer funds and coordinate payments for fellowship & award recipients.
+ Serve as CHA liaison for procurement and travel working closely with the FSC to process expense reports, reimbursements, honorarium payments, purchase orders and other procurement transactions.
+ Awards Schwalbe Travel Grants, which are specific to use of the Hazel Barnes Flat by approved applicants and facilitate award payments.
+ Arranges travel reimbursement grants and processes other expenditures as needed for CHA programs.
+ Assists the Faculty Director, Advancement, and external board with fundraising initiatives, such as solicitation letters and fundraising events.
+ Provides administrative support as needed to assist in planning and budgeting for the CHA.

This is a temporary, full-time position anticipated to last through the end of 2024. This role is in a hybrid work schedule.

The hourly range for this position is $28-$30.
