TERRITORY MANAGER
LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN
STATUS: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Outside Sales
BASIC FUNCTION
The Territory Manager will travel from places of businesses including contractors, job sites and/or institutions to grow sales and increase company profits by cultivating current customers and recruiting new customers. The representative will increase profitability by promoting products, providing technical support and conducting training to new and repeat customers within an assigned territory.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Close and grow sales through professional communication with existing and potential clients.
- Build relationships by learning the value of relationships and views building relationships as a critical success tool.
- Demonstrate effective presentation skills to successfully influence and communicate with various audience types and size.Manage and interpret customer requirements – speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs.
- Requires knowledge of customer’s needs so able to offer strategies of how we can help the client to grow their business.
- Identify and resolve customers concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.
- Exceed customer expectations by being available as needed for service of product, delivery, or sales information.
- Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products effectively.
- Drive the account planning process to define and track progress toward revenue, mix, and profit objectives.
- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
- Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
- Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns.
- Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items and information regarding when product will arrive for non-stock items.
- Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
- Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles.
- Maintain records of customer communications and contact information as required.
- Attend and participate in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
- Plan an organized and efficient sales call schedule, as well as, assist in maintaining a consistent service to our clientele.
- Driving short and long distances as needed in order to promote sales and customer service.
