About the Job
Position Summary: Responsible for the growth and expansion of direct sales and profit margins within the defined territory/region on products and/or services. To function as the sole sales representative in each given territory. To secure profitable product sales from existing and new distributors. To establish long-term relationships with end users and distributors.
Duties:
- Developing and maintaining target account list for Territory, engage stakeholders and internal resources to best serve customers
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars
- Growing top line sales, converting target accounts and end users
- Building product presentations to existing and potential new distributors along with developing long term strategic relationships with end users, home builders, remodelers, etc.
- Time spent making joint sales calls with distributor and lumberyard salespeople.
- Collects and reports information on all competitive activity, business opportunities, the voice of the customer, sales trends, and results within the assigned market providing input during monthly business review
- Address administrative duties such as weekly activity reports, expense reports, periodic marketing reports, and advance planning.
- Attend and participate in sales activities including customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations/evaluations, customer seminars, and channel management
- Demonstrate time & territory balance by executing planned activities to maximize time in the field with customers and prospects
- 75% travel is required for the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, or related field or combination of education and experience
- 5-10 years of direct B2B sales experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient problem-solving and multitasking skill
- You're a team player and thrive in a collaborative team environment
- You have a desire to learn and grow
- Ability to promote teamwork among peers is a must
- Ability to answer a high volume of calls and/or emails daily
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Proficient with SAP or an equivalent ERP system
