Intake Requirements :-
- Senior level engineer with a minimum of 5-6 years of relevant experience - Auto test bench experience is key; android testing can be picked up
- Test engineering for android applications ideal
- Can proficiently write test cases, create specifications documents, run test cases for various applications
- Executing test cases on the test bench- is a must for experience
- Must be able to install/replace versions of applications on the bench (version management)
-over all Test bench management is a requirement - must be able to troubleshoot is audio working for the bench or the internet down, etc.
- ADB (Android debugging tool) is the primary tool utilized
- Familiarity with automotive test benches
- Defect management and logging for the development team

Role Summary :-
• Test Engineer to ensure seamless functionality and user experience of Android applications within automotive infotainment systems.
Responsibilities :-
• Test Case Development:
o Design and develop detailed test cases covering various scenarios, user interactions, and
edge cases specific to Android apps running on in-vehicle infotainment systems.
o Prioritize test cases based on risk assessment and project timelines.
• Test Execution:
o Execute smoke tests to quickly assess the basic functionality of new app builds.
o Conduct thorough regression testing to identify potential issues arising from software
changes or updates.
o Document and report test results accurately and clearly in Confluence/Jira including
screen captures and trace logs
• Test Bench Management:
o Configure automotive test benches, including establishing connectivity to infotainment
systems and updating test bench software as needed.
o Ensure test benches accurately simulate real-world vehicle environments.
• Version Management:
o Collaborate with development teams to understand version changes and their potential
impact on app functionality.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of version management systems (e.g., Git) to track
changes and ensure consistent testing across versions.
• Defect Management:
o Identify, document, and track defects using Jira, providing detailed steps to reproduce issues.
o Work closely with developers to analyze and resolve defects.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Actively contribute to the improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
o Stay abreast of the latest trends in Android Automotive OS and in-vehicle infotainment
technologies.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in Android app testing, preferably with a focus on in-vehicle infotainment systems.
- Basic knowledge of Android Automotive OS.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing test cases.
- Experience with automotive test benches and their configuration.
- Proficiency in Confluence, Jira, and version management tools.
Required Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of Android testing fundamentals and methodologies.
- Familiarity with Android debugging tools (ADB, Android Studio, etc.).
- Basic understanding of networking protocols relevant to in-vehicle connectivity.
- Basic scripting experience in Python or related languages.
- (Nice to have) Experience with Android testing frameworks (Espresso, UI Automator).
- (Nice to have) Knowledge of automotive software development or testing standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
