About the Job
- Design, develop and implement cost-effective, innovative solutions for testing and characterizing our faraday rotator materials.
- Develop automated test beds and test procedures for new magneto-optical products
- Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures for test and characterization procedures
- Consider the manufacturing demands, production schedules and equipment required for testing and evaluating our garnet materials in an ergonomic and efficient manner
- Produce process control and yield reports on the results of testing our faraday rotators
- Work with sales and marketing to produce product performance data for key customers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Physics, Electronic or Optical Engineering
- Relevant coursework, labs or previous experience using data acquisition equipment and software interfacing (RS-232, USB, GPIB)
- Training or previous experience with laser systems and optical testing
- Training or previous experience with optical design principles and experience bread boarding electro-optic and opto-mechanical designs
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of basic electronics design
- Experience working with databases, data retrieval, and complex analysis
- Experience with Python, C# or other script programming languages
- Experience with JMP, Origin, Excel or other statistical analysis software
- Demonstrated knowledge of and good decision-making around work safety (laser, mechanics, high voltage, fragile materials, etc.
