Position Description:
Banner Defense is in search of a Systems Engineer to support the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) Human Machine Integrated Formations (HMIF) Project Office (PO) in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The T&E Lead will plan and execute HMIF test and evaluation activities in coordination with the Army Evaluation Center. The successful candidate will lead and participate in system-level technical and operational testing of the HMIF Armor BCT and Infantry BCT formations.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development of testing tools and methodologies and coordinating with the testing organizations throughout the T&E lifecycle, inclusive of data authentication groups.
- Developing Test Plans: Creating or reviewing comprehensive test plans that outline objectives, methods, resources, and schedules for evaluating the prototype.
- Designing Test Procedures: Establishing and reviewing detailed procedures for conducting tests, including defining test scenarios, conditions, and metrics for performance evaluation.
- Coordinating Testing Activities: Organizing and overseeing the execution of tests, ensuring all necessary resources, equipment, and personnel are available and properly coordinated.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Supervising the collection of test data, analyzing results, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Identifying Issues and Deficiencies: Detecting and documenting any problems, deficiencies, or areas for improvement in the prototype during testing.
- Reporting and Documentation: Preparing detailed reports and documentation of test results, providing clear and concise feedback to development teams and stakeholders.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensuring that all testing activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks associated with the prototype and its testing and developing mitigation strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Implementing lessons learned from testing to improve future test plans, procedures, and prototype designs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicating test results, progress, and issues to stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and clients.
- Training and Mentorship: Providing guidance and training to team members on test and evaluation methodologies and best practices.
- Integration and Interoperability Testing: Ensuring the prototype integrates well with other systems and performs effectively in various operational environments.
- Field Testing: Overseeing field tests to evaluate the prototype's performance in real-world conditions, including its durability, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in technical field - experience can be considered for equivalency of education
- 6+ years of T&E experience that can be a combination of contractor assignments and applicable military experience
- Military overseas deployment and operational experience required
- Progressively complex experience in the testing and integration of Human Machine Integrated systems, especially related to tactical systems.
- Expertise with developing and applying measures of performance and effectiveness.
- Familiarity with the use of databases and automated tools for evaluation, analytical, and verification support.
- Familiarity with T&E policies and procedures in support of DoD 5000 Acquisition.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Travel is required
