About the Job
Position Summary - The successful candidate will be able to direct, coordinate, and prioritize production test activities, applying knowledge of product, test strategy and procedures, test equipment and capability of subordinates. This individual will mentor and develop the requisite skill set of the production test department to effectively and efficiently test and debug high voltage, high-power top-level assemblies along with associated sub-assemblies and components, providing training as needed. Must be experienced in testing and troubleshooting both analog and digital circuits. Products range from 2KVA to 200KVA AC and DC power and frequency converters as well as a limited amount of small RF systems. Confers with management and engineering personnel to establish and insure product performance and reliability according to established criteria. Provides feedback to Design Engineering regarding appropriate test strategies, issues and/or anomalies discovered during production test and recommend changes to the system to support the overall cost and performance expectations of the systems being tested.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

¿ Track and maintain proper status and accountability for all job orders processed through assigned area

¿ Schedule and assign work for technicians and ensure proper skill sets and cross-training to meet the
demands of the business

¿ Assist in testing activities, troubleshooting and training, demonstrating a "hands-on” approach as needed

¿ Maintain accurate administrative paperwork, i.e. time sheets, vacation requests, data collection, etc. for
the Production Test Department. Conduct performance reviews and ensure all company policies and
processes are followed and recommend changes and new processes as required

¿ Perform as liaison between Production and Engineering, cascading information and helping to assign
organizational responsibility

¿ Fiscal responsibility for Production Test, capital equipment and staffing requirements

¿ Promote and ensure compliance with all housekeeping and safety policies in this high voltage/current
environment

¿ Isolate production vs. engineering issues and work with Software and Hardware Engineering (Design and
Support Engineering) to resolve these issues to ensure they do not continue to occur in production

¿ Assist engineering with design, development and validation of new products, along with associated
production test requirements/equipment

¿ Assist with Field Service testing and issues as required and assist in the training of Field Service Technicians
Job Requirements

¿ Experience in testing and troubleshooting of higher power 3 phase systems along with experience in troubleshooting system and board level problems. This would also include being able to identify software vs hardware type problems

¿ Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities in a diverse, high stress environment

¿ Communicate effectively with employees, support groups and management

¿ Read, comprehend and interpret engineering drawings and schematics

¿ Proficient in the utilization of all standard test equipment

¿ Strong proficiency in troubleshooting techniques and problem solving of digital and analog circuits and the ability to teach this proficiency to others

¿ Ability to work across multiple departments and work with all levels including Management, Engineering, Technician and Assembly personnel

¿ Proficient in MS Office to include Excel, Word and Outlook

¿ Working knowledge of quality standards in electronics manufacturing

¿ Required to work more time than scheduled as needed

¿ A good working knowledge of RF testing techniques and troubleshooting is highly desirable
Experience
¿ Minimum of 5 years recent experience in electronic digital/analog discipline ¿ Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
¿ Power conversion experience preferredEducation Electrical/Electronics degree from an accredited university, technical institute or equivalent military training
Physical Requirements – Must be able to walk, sit, stand, stoop, kneel, reach, fine manual manipulation, keyboard, see, hear, and smell
