Concord Theatricals’ Acquisitions and Artistic Development Department drives the acquisitions process for the company to determine which new plays and musicals the company should publish and license. We are committed to furnishing theatres around the country and beyond with desired material for professional theatres, as well as amateur groups and niche markets. As such, the Acquisitions and Artistic Development Department takes in submissions of new scripts, covers plays and musicals, and builds relationships with emerging and established writers and composers. The department also works with other Concord branches to develop original content for the stage and to adapt stage properties for other mediums. Additionally, the Acquisitions and Artistic Development Department is responsible for research into the editorial content of titles in the catalog used for building and populating information on the website.
As the Concord Theatricals’ Acquisitions and Artistic Development Intern, youwill gain perspectives into the process for a play to be acquired for licensing and publishing, as well as the general business model of theatrical licensing and publishing, including an expanded knowledge of specific markets and theatrical institutions. They will gain further understanding about play analysis and structure through assigned reading. The intern will also gain experience in database management in working with our submission and catalog database pages.
Our paid internship program will give you a unique opportunity to enhance your professional skillset, increase your knowledge of the industry, and expand your network. Our goal is to help you develop your talents as well as receive dedicated mentorship and support. Our Spring Internship Program will run from Tuesday, January 21st – Friday, March 28th and allows interns to work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. This internship is a paidin-person opportunity and requires the ability to work in the specified office location.
Responsibilities:What you’ll do:
- Compile content and data from Concord Theatricals catalog for new uses.
- Read and provide analysis for submitted plays.
- Serve as Production Assistant for Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival.
- Provide data and analysis for day to day operations.
- Provide data and analysis for long-term projects

- This internship is a part-time paid internship and requires someone located in/near New York City
- The timeline of this internship program runs from Tuesday, January 21st – Friday, March 28th you must be able to work 20 hours/week.
The hourly rate for this position is $17.28
