Overview:
At First City Recovery Center, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to our residents. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Clinical Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for our patients. They will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that each patient receives individualized care tailored to their specific needs.
Specific Areas of Responsibility to Position:
- Review assessments from referring facilities and note problems/issues that require further attention
- Contact referral source and other key individuals to gather additional information as necessary and maintain contact with referral source and other key individuals throughout patient's treatment
- Gather comprehensive diagnostic information through psychosocial assessment interview then develop an Integrated Summary, bringing together information from all assessments to identify problem areas that may affect treatment and/or need to be addressed in treatment planning
- Develop a comprehensive problem list that reflects patient's individual issues as described in assessments and the Integrated Summary and present the psychosocial and diagnostic information to treatment team in a clear, concise manner
- During first session with patient, review initial treatment plan, including case management issues and be sure that patient and staff assignments and responsibilities are understood and in progress
- Formulate a comprehensive treatment plan with patient that effectively addresses patient issues has clearly stated treatment goals and objectives that are measurable and can be completed within established time frames
- Participate effectively in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews, demonstrating adequate preparation and understanding of patient issues, progress, strengths and weaknesses, areas of resistance, positive and negative strategies, and use good clinical judgment in moving patient through treatment levels.
- Develop interventions that will accomplish goals and objectives and state the planned frequency of interventions
- Maintain clinical records according to program policies and those of licensing and accrediting agencies, document the patient's progress accurately as it relates to treatment goals and objectives, ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and articulate and keep clinical records secure at all times
- Continue treatment planning process throughout patient's stay in treatment, opening new problems and developing or revising treatment plans as necessary
- Lead and co-facilitate group therapy sessions in a manner that creates an atmosphere in which self- disclosure is facilitated, helps patients gain group process skills, and helps patients gain insight into problems and utilizes experiential techniques effectively
- Complete activity and group plans in advance for the CCO including supplies utilized and/or needed
- Conduct educational groups (lectures/videos/discussions) effectively
- Address problem behaviors, confront counter-productive behavior appropriately in a manner that elicits respect and bonds with the patient while still enforcing program rules and regulations in a firm but fair manner
- Assist patients to understand treatment goals and give her a clear picture of where she stands with regard to progress toward recovery as seen by the therapist and the multidisciplinary treatment team

- Track patient's clinical problems in group
- Provide individual counseling to patients at least one (1) times per week
- Maintain regular contact and open communication with families, assist families in identifying the problems and issues, conduct at least one (1) weekly family therapy session and assist families in finding resources to help themselves
- Be effective in finding and linking patient with internal and external resources as needed to meet patient needs
- Assist patient in managing outside stressors (legal, financial, vocational, etc.) according to the best interests of the patient's progress in recovery
- Prepare patient to maintain recovery post-discharge and help develop a discharge plan that meets patient needs for ongoing support
- Accept and utilize supervision and address problems noted by supervisor
- Communicate with supervisor and keep supervisor informed of significant patient developments
- Participate in Quality Improvement activities and contribute to the welfare of the organization
- Pursue professional development through participation in education and training programs
- Have good work habits: get things done in a timely, efficient manner, adhere to time schedules, maintain good communication, demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and function well as a team member and contribute positively to the morale of staff.
- Actively participates in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings.
- Shares pertinent information with team as obtained from client's family, or others as indicated throughout program.
- Attends daily and weekly staffing meetings per schedule.
- Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the therapeutic milieu.
- Facilitates group therapy.
- Performs individual therapy with client/family.
- Documents the assessment of client progress/regress and interventions provided in the medical record, on an ongoing basis.
- Recognizes, responds to and assists in psychiatric crisis situations and provide the intervention necessary.
- Responds and assists in medical emergency situations as directed and needed.
- Communicates effectively with client, staff and physician.
- Provides clients with education and instruction on Advance Directives.
- Attends and participates in monthly Program Staff meeting as scheduled by CEO.
- Adheres to facility policies and procedures, State Rules and Regulations and JC standards.
- Performs other duties assigned.
EDUCATION: Master's Degree in social work, psychology or related human services field.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of work experience in mental health field
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Licensure and/or (Intern License) to practice clinical discipline in the appropriate state, as applicable, required in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health counselor and/or Certified Addiction Professional.

Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health.
Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program.
Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes;

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Familiar with community resources
Compensation details: 80000-100000 Yearly Salary
