Davis Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time MCOT/Stabilization Therapist to join the Children & Youth Stabilization and Mobile Response (SMR) team.
Description
The Intensive Stabilization Therapist works collaboratively within a team to provide short-term interventions and services to youth experiencing behavioral and/or mental health challenges and their families. The services are individualized, collaborative, flexible, and are based on the child and family's needs, with the goal of preventing further escalation into the crisis system. Additionally, this position may be asked to provide crisis response services to individuals of all ages in Davis County. This position is community based and requires the individual to provide services in homes, schools, and other community settings.
Essential Job Functions
The Intensive Stabilization Therapist is responsible for the following job duties:
- Work collaboratively with the team to provide stabilization services to families, which may include evaluations and needs assessments, family therapy, skills coaching and/or respite, coordination with schools and other child serving agencies, peer support, and linking to appropriate community resources and longer-term services.
- Provide immediate intervention to assist the individual to de-escalate behaviors and emotional symptoms impacting their ability to function safely in the community.
- Connect individuals to ongoing services and supports to help them in maintaining in the community.
- Provide routine follow up with individuals and, as appropriate, their families after crisis situations to promote continued stability.
- Assist with the transition from acute psychiatric or other high levels of care back to the home environment.
- When needed, respond to crisis calls and participate in mobile deployments in the community.
- Complete clinical documentation of all services within agency guidelines.
- Other necessary duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Licensure/Certification
Master's degree in social work or related field. Current licensure in the state of Utah as an LCSW or equivalent (if under licensed, must work towards obtaining full licensure). Must have relevant experience in the behavioral health field. Crisis worker certification preferred; required after hire. Strong preference given to bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates.
Experience
Experience in crisis intervention, specifically with youth and families, and in providing clinical care to youth and their families.
Skills & Abilities
- Must have skills in working with SED/SPMI populations, substance use, and with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress.
- Knowledge of Systems of Care guiding principles.
- Demonstrates the skills necessary to motivate and engage individuals, including youth and their families.
- Knowledge of the techniques and principles of child and family development and family systems theory.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, including screening, assessing, and treating from a trauma-informed lens.
- Good organizational and practice management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and community/state agencies.
- Strong knowledge of community resources.
- Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work, including evenings and weekends.
Meeting monthly face-to-face service expectations and productivity standards is also required.
Schedule
This is a full-time position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This schedule may require evening work to accommodate the needs of the clients and their families. DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need, some in and out of state travel may be required.
The specific schedule will be determined by the program supervisor upon hire.
Compensation
This position is classified as full-time, exempt.
Base Rate
The base rate for fully licensed clinicians is calculated with a starting annual rate of $75,500 plus credit for years of full-licensure experience as defined below:
- $75,500.00 to $88,000.00 per year is the approved base rate range
- 1% per year for each year of full licensure between 0 and 10 years
- 1% per year for every three years of full licensure between 10 and beyond
- $3,000 Spanish-language incentive annual stipend (paid bi-weekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.
The base rate for under-licensed clinicians (CSW/ACMHC) is $64,000 per year.

DBH Criminal Background Check & Drug Screening Disclaimer
Davis Behavioral Health is a drug-free workplace and requires all employees to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
