About the Job
Job Purpose: To provide mental health or substance use disorder interventions in the context of a therapeutic treatment milieu as defined by NC Division of Medical Assistance Enhanced MH/SA Services Day Treatment Service Definition.
Provide supervision in a ratio of 1 QP staff: 6 clients
Oversight of Day Treatment day to day functions. Supervising and supporting all staff members in their job functions and duties. Create and maintain a well-ordered daily routine, by establishing a shared sense of safety, cleanliness, responsibility, accountability, trust, empathy, learning, etc.
Professionalism in all areas of work, including client and co-worker relationships. Displays good communication and feedback within a team dynamic, and exhibits professionalism in all areas of work.
Provide and coordinate with Access to attend and conduct the intake interview and comprehensive clinical assessment (CCA) for clients being referred to Day Treatment.
Learn, model, and teach Head, Heart, and Hands, Think It Tools, New Me curriculum, and any subsequent agency or state mandated programs. Assist in updates to the model as needed.
Perform staff supervisions and disciplinary actions. Provide at least 1 CLF monthly for the facility. Providing clinical supervision, training, and ongoing learning of all QPs, APs, and PPs.
Development and implementation of experiential day treatment programming (i.e. equine assisted learning, art, yoga, etc.)
Maintain minutes for facility CLF. Develop monthly agenda (allow team approach to foster a learning environment).
Attend clinical learning forum (CLF) as assigned. Come prepared to discuss difficult cases in order to staff with the Clinical and/or Medical Director.
Review and approve all staff daily notes for clients served. Ensure that notes submitted for billing are clinically sound and accurate as to date, time, duration of service, and content. Keep SAL up to date. Notes are to be approved and turned in no later than Monday, by noon, for the previous week's services.
Attend monthly day treatment Local Leadership Team (LLT) and contribute to the development of the agenda and in overall day treatment problem solving.
Complete appropriate and timely documentation of all services provided and maintain other documentation (i.e. CALOCUS, CCAs, therapy notes, etc.)
Complete CALOCUS as needed for each authorization or requested by clinical standards and guidelines. Service notes are to be completed within 24 hours of the event, CCA have 72 hours of the event. Develop clinical justification to give to the Case Manager for submission of initial and concurrent authorizations.
Co-facilitate multi-family night events quarterly.
Provide recruitment and interviewing of all program staff. Must have input from direct supervisor and approval from Human Resources Director for any new hires. Assist and participate in ongoing staff training scheduled by administration, including training updates.
Facilitate individual therapy per client at least monthly as well as family sessions as needed.
Facilitate peer groups and therapeutic/experiential groups with a minimum of 1 time weekly per client.
Attend required community or outside agency meetings (i.e. DRT, MCO Community Partners meetings, MCO or state trainings. Consult with identified medical and non-medical providers, engaging community and natural supports including their input in the Person Centered Planning (PCP) process.
Actively intervene and assist during times of client crisis while at day treatment. Ensure implementation of the client's PCP and crisis plan. Monitor and document the status of the client's progress and the effectiveness of the strategies and interventions as outlined in the PCP.
Attend Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings. This is only when needed and/or requested by the Care Coordinator.
Conduct re-assessments and/or addendums as needed on the client's current CCA. A new CCA should be completed on each client a minimum of annually. All CCAs are presented to the Clinical Director for final approval until they deem it no longer necessary.
Implement and abide by all Focus day treatment and respective school system policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
