MST-FIT (Multisystemic Therapy – Family Integrated Transitions) is an intensive family and community-based treatment that addresses the multiple determinants of serious antisocial behavior. MST strives to promote behavior change in the youth’s natural environment, using the strengths of each system to facilitate change. Treatment is initiated for the youth and family while the youth is still in placement. It is an adaptation of traditional MST Therapy designed to promote successful integration of the youth back into the community post placement. The MST-FIT Therapist will ensure that these services adhere to the model’s specifications while employing the MST-FIT model throughout a 46 bed adolescent female Rapid Intervention Center and Group Residence.
Reports to: Supervisor of Multi Systemic Therapy- Family Integrated Transitions (MST- FIT)
Location: 337 East 17th Street, NY, NY 10003
Hours: 35 hours (Position requires to staff to be onsite)
Salary: $55,000 to $69,227 yearly Based on Relevant Experience and Licensure (Position Requires Staff to be onsite)
Major Duties:
- Provide clinically effective, family based intervention designed to promote responsible behavior.
- Work with family members establishing clear goals and actively work towards goals by focusing on solutions.
- Complete written psycho-social assessment of participants and family/ significant others.
- Participate in weekly interdisciplinary Treatment team meetings, case conferences, department meetings and program events.
- Attend mandatory clinical supervision, consultation and training sessions.
- Ability to have an rotating on call schedule (evenings/ weekends).
- Participate with Program Evaluation and Planning Dept (PEP) in fulfillment of the program evaluation processes, including documentation/collection, development and monitoring of program data in Connections and outcomes.
- Maintain mandated paperwork and recordkeeping in compliance with ACS, OCFS and GSS PEP Dept.
- Effectively use and practice the Sanctuary Model tools: safety plans, community meetings, psycho-education groups, team meetings, red flag reviews, treatment planning conferences (or similar), and self care in the department/program to create a non violent and trauma sensitive culture.
- Promote and model the seven Sanctuary Model commitments to create a non-violent and Trauma sensitive culture.
- Integrate the Sanctuary Model SELF (Safety, Emotional Management, Loss and Future) framework into daily practice to ensure quality care and an effective work environment.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work and LMSW required within 6 months of hire-OR Master's Degree in Counselling (Mental Health) and Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor required within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to be flexible to provide emergency coverage when needed (e.g., conduct home visits, attend court hearings, etc.)
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Must demonstrate competence in written, verbal, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule when needed including some evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to use public transportation when attending various meetings or making home visits.
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development and trauma informed perspective.
- Must have a commitment to GSS models of practice including Sanctuary and ACS principles to promote permanency, safety, and well-being.
- Must be physically able to climb stairs when an elevator is not available
