POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for fabricating projects in a rotating workspace.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Independently complete assigned projects on-time and accurately; follow directions, scope and procedures provided by team leads and supervisors.
- Work independently on specified equipment using brakes, roll, and other fabrication equipment layout, form-fit, and tack-weld components.
- Tack and weld using appropriate instructions and procedures; independently lay out jobs.
- Report changes and mistakes to lead.
- Learn and adapt quickly to assigned project tasks.
- Responsible for quality of work produced and follow methods of continuous improvement.
- Operate rolling stock such as forklifts, scissor lifts, brakes, rolls, welders, carry deck cranes, and overhead cranes to safely move materials.
- Independently Operate shop power tools safely.
- Report broken equipment and safety hazards to supervisor.
- Perform work according to ICM quality policies.
- Read blueprints without assistance.
- Read welding procedures and complete welding certifications.
- Complete training as directed.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Report to work on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist Team Leader by performing duties assigned, including leading work team when directed.
- Must be able to pass a 6G Weld Test.
- Must also pass an open root 3G MIG, fill in cap test.
- Must be able to TIG Weld roots and caps on all various sizes of pipe.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
3-5 years Pipe Welding on carbon and stainless steel. Fabricating experience or equivalent combination of welding classes and experience required
Skills/Abilities:
- Must possess capability to perform quality welding techniques and be qualified for carbon and stainless steel welding in advanced processes and procedures; capable of learning quality welding techniques and obtaining qualifications for other materials as directed
- Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret fabrication drawings
- Must have basic ability to read analyze and interpret piping isometric drawings
- Must have ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, and various layout tools
- Must have ability to identify beam, angle, channel, and other types of materials by size, thickness, and type
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Manufacturing environment, may be exposed to extremes in temperature, hazardous or moving equipment, loud noises, and crowded environments, continually. Standing, walking, bending continuously. May be required to work at elevations of up to 60 feet. Occasional travel may be required to complete projects. Hours worked beyond 40 hours a week will be paid as overtime.
