Georgia-Pacific is seeking motivated individuals to join our Engineering Development Program (EDP) as a Papermaking Developmental Manufacturing Engineer at one of several nationwide locations! This is a unique opportunity to develop into a proficient manufacturing engineer, supported by a team of experienced professionals and leaders in the field.

This position is part of the Georgia-Pacific Corporate Engineering group, headquartered in Green Bay, WI. Employees will be located at one of our manufacturing facilities, where they will continue to advance their professional development and growth.
This role requires travel, with the frequency varying as needed. On average, travel should not exceed 50% over the next two years.
What You Will Do
- Develop Expertise: Actively learn and develop manufacturing knowledge and skills through guided and self-directed activities.
- Collaborate: Work closely with mill operations and cross-functional teams to understand and improve paper-making processes, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
- Innovate: Define and optimize operating parameters for various papermaking processes and share this knowledge to strengthen the skills of the operations team.
- Enhance Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies to improve the standardization and efficiency of paper machine assets.
- Mentorship: Engage with mentors and subject matter experts to acquire operational, technical, and leadership capabilities.
- Facilitate Learning: Conduct learning sessions to disseminate knowledge within the manufacturing environment.
- Safety: Work with an awareness of safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Enrolled in a degree or alternative program in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science Engineering, or equivalent.
- Eligible for full time employment on or before Summer 2025.
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
- Willing to travel up to 50% on average for the first two years to various facilities for professional development.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Previous paper or other industry experience (internship, co-op, etc.).
