PAY GRADE: Paraprofessional 030 (187 Days)
DEPARTMENT: Assigned School

JOB GOAL:
Provide flexibility in meeting campus needs by assisting in the office and/or in the classrooms as determined by the principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate
- High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work will with children
- Ability to use/learn basic computer applications
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Experience working with children/students or parents
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Perform receptionist/clerical duties in the office as assigned
- Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructionalexercises as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment
- Assist in supervising students throughout the school day as needed
- Assist in the maintenance of administrative records and preparation of reports as required
- Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment as assigned
- Assist in preparing materials/displays for instruction or campus operations
- Participate in staff development programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required
EQUIPMENT USED:
Copier, multi-line telephone, facsimile, audiovisual equipment, and computer/peripherals

Frequent requests to complete work in restrictive timeframes
May inlcude a lot of Standing, stooping, bending
May be required to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance
Safety:
Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
