Wieland currently has an immediate need for a Tool & Die Technician to handle tasks associated with tooling maintenance, die set assembly, and modifications on stamping related processes - as well as performing preventative and predictive maintenance on these systems. This role will sit in Wieland's East Alton, IL facility.
Starting Pay: $44.81
Schedule: Rotating/Swinging
Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly
Responsibilities:Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Works together with and/or leads the operating crew to minimize downtime and to maximize productivity
- Responsible for making the basic decisions on how a mechanical repair is to proceed and perform quality repairs the first time in a timely manner
- Work with the production team for constant improvement
- Perform administrative duties as assigned, including completion of work order documentation and data entry into the computerized maintenance system
- Assigned tasks associated with tooling maintenance, die set assembly, and modifications on stamping related processes - as well as performing preventative and predictive maintenance on these systems
Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; 2 year college degree in Machine Shop preferred
- Minimum of five years industrial/maintenance machinist experience OR a four year apprenticeship certification (Machinist or Tool & Die Maker required)
- Experience in press repair and general equipment breakdown maintenance is preferred but not required
- Understanding of Predictive Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance practices is a plus
