Position Summary:
The primary function of this job is the facilitation and execution of repair, replacement, and fabrication of tooling and ancillary press equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, clean, maintain, and repair injection and transfer molds, including performing insert changes, assembly, disassembly, and final fitting.
- Machine mold components using manual mills and surface grinders; ensure proper setup, organization, and tracking of tools.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing, process engineering, automation, and maintenance, along with conducting mold inspections and repairs.
- Participate in weekly tooling status meetings with the Tool Maker team and assist in managing spare part inventory to ensure critical components are available.
- Contribute to equipment improvement efforts, operate measuring tools and hoisting equipment, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Must Have:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking fluent English.
- Must obtain a valid Fork Truck License within 30 days of hire.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in an applicable technical or tool maker position.
Good to have:
- Injection molding and/or injection press experience preferred as well as proficiency in all aspects of equipment operation for injection mold presses, transfer presses, and all related secondary equipment which includes material pumps, chillers, and temperature control units.
- CNC Machining (desired)
- Mold building is a plus
