Commercial Plastics seeks a full-time Tool Room Technician on 1st Shift for our manufacturing facility in Waverly, NE. We are experiencing a tremendous amount of growth in our Waverly, NE Facility. JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain, modify and repair tools/molds
Capable of shutting down presses and starting them back up after daily Preventative Maintenance (PM) completion of in press
Prepare tools for production according to schedule requests
Document departmental activities using in house with IQMS software (PM Module)
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Work as a team member with all departments and encourage others to do the same
Set up and operate a wide range of machines
Applies experience and knowledge to accurately measure, determine dimensions, develop a sequence of operations, and setup and run machinery to manufacture and repair components
Analyze, diagnose, and correct tooling problems on the production floor and in the Tool Room
Test operation of molds to ensure functionality, conferring with engineering and production personnel as necessary to ensure they are fit for use
Take preventive measures for keeping the tools and molding surfaces safe and free of damage, including instructing production personnel on the correct handling procedures
Maintain tool room stock, operating manuals, mold drawings, mold and component locations, and mold maintenance records
Maintain good housekeeping and machine shop practices
Any other duties as assigned
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Weld various metals and examine welds for meeting specifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
2-year degree required (preferably in Tool & Die, Machine Tool, or other related field)
1-5 years Mold Making and processing capabilities in injection molding
Knowledge of metalworking processes
Knowledge of mechanical drawing, tool design, and blueprint reading
Good communicator and team member
Must have the ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instruction in English
Able to complete reporting requirements as assigned
Good attendance and punctuality are essential
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Reaching, bending and squatting multiple times per day
Work while standing for long periods of time
Lifting objects up to 30 pounds
Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
Must be able to work over 8 hours, if needed and weekends if necessary
