About the Job
Overview:
The Tooling Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing process by ensuring that all tooling and fixtures are properly maintained and repaired. They are responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges and ensuring their availability for production use.

Key Responsibilities:
Inspecting, disassembling, and reassembling tooling and fixtures
Performing preventive maintenance on tooling equipment
Identifying and resolving issues with tooling and fixtures in a timely manner
Assisting in the installation and removal of tooling equipment
Collaborating with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling performance
Operating various tools and machinery to fabricate or modify tooling components
Documenting maintenance activities and reporting on tooling performance
Conducting regular inventory checks of tooling components and supplies
Following safety protocols and regulations while working with tools and equipment
Training and mentoring junior technicians in tooling maintenance best practices
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field
2+ years of experience in tooling maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
Strong understanding of tooling materials and fabrication techniques
Ability to use precision measurement instruments such as micrometers and calipers
Knowledge of CNC machining and programming is preferred
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement concepts
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects
Adherence to strict safety guidelines and protocols
