Pro Resources is seeking a 2nd or 3rd Shift Skilled Toolmaker for a client in Geneva, IN. - Compensation is from 52,499 USD to 62,129 USD per year + $1 shift premium
Job Duties
- Check shop orders for job information
- Compare blueprints with shop orders
- Set up machines according to print specifications
- Write programs to print specifications
- Calibrate tools
- Read blueprints
- Use various measuring methods and equipment
- Responsible for general maintenance on machine and work area
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders, etc.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
Background Profile
- High School Diploma/GED
- Machine Trade School Graduate or Journeyman's License (Preferred)
- Must have at least 5 years’ toolroom experience
- Must know and be able to use trigonometry;
- Must be able to read complicated drawings
- Must have the ability to do difficult set-ups and operation of a wide variety of work involving considerable high degree of ingenuityand judgment
- Must be able to read blueprints
- Must be proficient in operating all available machine tools, capable of performing all bench work with knowledge of plating and heat treating
- Must be knowledgeable with CNC lathes, manual lathes, CNC mills and manual mills.
