SUMMARY
The Toolroom Planner plays a key role in the efficient daily operation of the Strattec Security Corporation MKE Toolroom. This position, along with the Toolroom Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of the toolroom to ensure the timely delivery of tools to support the production goals of the organization. The planner is responsible for scheduling the activities of the toolroom personnel and outside resources, managing inventory, and implementing systems which aid in the increase of productivity and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning and analysis of weekly and daily toolroom schedules.
- Ensure effective communication of schedules & priorities to Toolroom leadership, skilled personnel and appropriate systems.
- Optimize delivery using available inhouse and outsource resources to ensure production is disruption is minimized.
- Track and analyze delivery to determine if additional capacity is required to meet demand.
- Identify and resolve toolroom scheduling errors or deficiencies.
- Analyze delivery data with team to identify and eliminate high occurrence events that negatively impact delivery.
- Coordinate with suppliers for the procurement of new tools or the repair of existing ones.
- Implement and monitor KANBAN for critical tooling components and measure compliance
- Working with the Toolroom leadership and team, apply a continuous improvement mindset to optimize toolroom operating procedures.
- Working with the Toolroom Supervisor, maintain a detailed inventory of tools and equipment.
- Primary responsibility for initiating Purchasing Requisitions for the department.
- Assist in budget preparation for the tool room operations and the monitoring of expenditures.

Supervisory Relationships:
- Manufacturing Engineering & Tooling Manager
- No direct reports
Organization Relationships:
- Frequent contact with Toolroom Supervisor and Production Supervisors.
- Frequent contact with Tool Designers and CNC Programmers
- Frequent contact with Tool & Die Makers, Machinists and Technicians
- Moderate contact with Purchasing
External Business Relationships:
- Moderate contact with outside suppliers for tooling or equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two years of experience within a toolroom or job shop setting or five years of experience in the area of production planning, operations, purchasing and/or warehousing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Metal Working or related field preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel.
- The ability to influence others through strong communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple deliverables in a complex environment.
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP/AS400/Kanban tools preferred.
