Trading & Operations Lead
OpenYield is on a mission to evolve the standards of fixed income trading through technology and collaboration. We operate a fully automated bond marketplace (ATS) making it easy for broker-dealers, advisors, and asset managers to trade bonds.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an experienced Trading & Operations Lead to join our team and take charge of platform operations. Operations plays a key role in the functioning of the ATS and ranges from customer onboarding and adoption, transaction processing, settlements, and compliance. You will touch the most critical functions of the platform and work with executive management to develop workflows and technology to ensure best in class operations of our venue. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong background in fixed income operations and settlements, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee daily trading and settlement activity.
- Reconcile trading inventories and settlement accounts. Promptly resolve trade breaks, fails, DKs
- Manage client onboarding from agreement signed to active trading.
- Facilitate the opening of new settlement accounts at our clearing agent.
- Update appropriate systems with all client communication, activities, and other relevant data.
- Support Chief Compliance Officer with day-to-day compliance monitoring and policy implementation.
- Complete and/or escalate client requests with the utmost attention to detail in facilitating white-glove level service.
- Assist in the improvement or development of operational processes and work with the firm's technology team or third-party service providers to implement operational improvements.
- Maintain relations with and an understanding of the systems of custodians and transfer agents.
- Partner with the product team to prioritize enhancements and develop new features

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Five years of operational experience specific to operations of fixed income instruments
- Finance, Accounting or Business degrees preferred.
- Series 7, 52, & 63 or aptitude to earn them within 2 months of hire required. Series 24, 53 preferred.
- Strong general technology knowledge.
- Experience with clearing account opening and maintenance including applicable KYC requirements,
- Knowledge of necessary financial principles involved in fixed income instruments,
- Knowledge of DTCC, NSCC, FICC clearing and settlement
- Familiarity with business software; Google Workplace or MS Office, Tableau, CRM software, etc
- Familiarity with billing and reporting concepts such as fee invoicing, revenue & expense sharing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

In accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is $125,000 to $175,000. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
