Traditional Skilled Machinist for Wise Foods - Wise Snacks

A Machinist for Wise Foods will operate machine tools to fabricate and manufacture Machine parts.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
• Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
• Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area.
• Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining. Must have the skills and ability of traditional machining to shaping material with manual tools and machines ( Non- CNC mill & lathe).
• Ability to read blueprints and plans.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledgeable of fire prevention practices, procedures and equipment
• Knowledgeable of safety rules, regulations and practices with regard to personal safety and the safety of others in the immediate work area
• Work and comply with the company GMP standards

Education & Experience

• High School or GED.
• Trade School Experience
• 5 - 7 years as a skilled Machinist

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and move for long periods of time
• Ability to lift items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. frequently
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Ability to work with chemicals
• Mobility and movements - frequent ability to bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, reach outwards and upwards, grasp and twist wrists
