Traffic Engineer - Selectek, Inc.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Traffic Engineer to join our team in Tysons, VA. This role involves leading and managing transportation design projects, focusing on traffic signal design, lighting, maintenance of traffic, detours, pavement marking, and signing projects. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in planning, preparing technical documents, and participating in or leading project meetings. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and management of traffic design projects, including traffic signals, lighting, maintenance of traffic, detours, pavement marking, and signing.
• Prepare technical documents, including traffic analysis studies, site access, and circulation evaluation studies.
• Develop signal warrant analyses, design exception/waiver documentation, and proposals.
• Attend, participate, and lead project meetings, ensuring effective communication and project alignment.
• Collaborate with other offices on traffic engineering and transportation planning initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation engineering, traffic studies, and/or civil engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong public presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
• Experience in Traffic Design is a significant plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting salary of $90,000+ (negotiable based on experience).
