POSITION SUMMARY
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people impacted by Substance Use Disorder (SUD)? Do you have a passion for teaching and sharing your expertise with others? If so, apply and work as a Learning and Development Specialist for Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC). You will take an active role our current project to improve the quality and accessibility of SUD services in California. We want to empower SUD providers with the best business practices that will help them serve their patients better and achieve optimal health outcomes and well-being.
As a Learning and Development Specialist, you will have a key role in designing, delivering and evaluating the curriculum for SUD training. You will: a) create engaging and informative training content, slides, webinars, assessment tools and other materials; b) lead the training sessions both online and face-to-face; c) produce and distribute the materials for training and outreach; d) manage the online and onsite training operations; and e) monitor the training progress. You will also build a central repository of SUD-related resources and products that will benefit the whole SUD community.
To succeed in this position, you should have excellent writing and communication skills; strong organizational and management skills, including time and record keeping; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in person and online; ability to collaborate with a team. Experience in updating websites with fresh content is a plus.
SALARY RANGE
$27.50 - $43.50 / per hour DOE
HOURS
8 Per Day / 5 Days Per Week
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Assists in the coordination and standardization of in-house and agency sponsored community trainings and conferences.
2. Ensures a high-quality standard for all agency staff and community trainings by implementing and adhering to adult learning principles and latest understanding of education and teaching methods.
3. Provides training for all employees on NHO, CPI, CPR/First Aid and other trainings as assigned.
4. Collaborates in training related activities, including; preparing relevant documentation materials, reviewing training curriculum outlines, researching articles fore-learning initiative, preparing PowerPoint presentations, development of training evaluations, and supporting other training activities as assigned.
5. Attends, as necessary, in-services, educational and capacity building trainings.
6. Attends internal and off-site training planning meetings as assigned.
7. Networks to develop training contacts and collaborations that further expand scope of agency training program.
8. Provides organization, flexibility, and creativity to the training department.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by Director.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
Must have a Master's Degree in health-related field preferred or BA/BS degree in health-related field plus minimum of 4 years work experience as a health educator and/or trainer. Must have a valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Willing to travel to the different regions of CA.
