Overview:The L&D Trainer and Designer role is essential for developing and delivering effective training programs that align with enterprise strategic initiatives and help our team members develop their skills and knowledge. This role involves developing instructional materials (courses, curriculums, workshops, presentations) using various methods (instructor-led, eLearning, web-based). Key duties include collaborating with subject matter experts, updating course content, evaluating training effectiveness, and leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance learning experiences. This role is also responsible for managing training logistics, scheduling, and maintaining records. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical skills, and collaboration to ensure the delivery of high-quality training programs that enhance employee performance and support organizational goals.
Responsibilities:- Identifies and writes learning objectives and create comprehensive storyboards using instructional design techniques
- Designs, develops, and produces, including but not limited to, courses, curriculums, development plans, workshops, seminars, and presentations for meetings utilizing a variety of delivery methods – instructor-led classroom, eLearning, self-paced, web- and computer-based training
- Designs, develops, and produces instructor manuals, participant guides, quick-reference guides, activities, and job aides to support all training delivery
- Researches and develop training programs aligned with corporate strategic initiatives
- Collaborates with subject matter experts and trainers to develop, updates and maintains course content
- Evaluates the effectiveness of all trainings
- Partners with appropriate internal and external experts to utilize cutting edge and currently available technology
- Utilizes multi-media tools including, but not limited to, online content editing software and use of internet/intranet networks and web-based education systems
- Collaborates with coordinator to ensure managers/staff have sufficient tools to monitor training progress and processes
- Assist management in the documentation of training materials for any new/revised products, systems, courses
- Provides training on systems, service, and operations: Member Service Platform (MSP), Compliant and Problem Resolution (CPR), Branch Suite, Lending 360, Procedure and Product Knowledge, Service & Solutions for Retail Branches and Merced Call Center as required
- Provides facilitation of Branch and MCC Foundations, as well as other training initiatives as they are introduced
- Ensures that all classroom courses are scheduled, assigned, and prepared in accordance with established standards
- Maintains team training records and finalizes class rosters on MyGPS
- Performs department support functions by answering team member requests and questions
- Answers questions from Team Members and educates them in the utilization of other available resources for information, such as MyGPS and MyPatelco
- Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communication, Human Resources, or relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience training or facilitating, in a financial institution is a plus
- 1+ year of experience in instructional design and curriculum development for adult learners
- Experience delivering full life-cycle of learning content design, creation, and facilitation
- Experience in the application of adult learning principles & methods and instructional design concepts
- Excellent oral/written communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills especially in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Publisher and content editing software such as Adobe Captivate or similar software
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills, including classroom facilitation (in-person or virtual) and public speaking
- The ability to work independently while being a genuine "team player"
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with employees and managers at all levels
- Maintain professionalism at all times
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must be flexible and have the ability to work under pressure and deliver projects within given deadlines
$30.24 - $35.58 / hr
