Summary:
This position is located in the Training Programs Management Division, Foreign Affairs Security Training Center, Directorate of Training, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Blackstone, VA.
In this position, you will serve as a senior instructor providing expert technical analysis, advice, and guidance on a broad spectrum of security preparedness topics designed to develop and enhance the abilities of personnel assigned abroad to appropriately deal with a full range of threat situations.

This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Service Contract (PSC) position. PSC’s do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years.

Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating security training programs.
- Experience providing and implementing instructional techniques and procedures to enhance the training experience.
- Experience analyzing unsafe training situations to ensure training exercises are conducted in a safe manner.
Note: Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s); supervising or administering a training program; development or review of training / course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; or work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
