Primary Responsibility:
The Transformer Technician is responsible for servicing, repairing, and testing transformers both in the workshop and at customer locations. This includes project supervision, installation, start-up, service, testing, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Tasks must be completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities / Duties:
· Perform field and in-house transformer activities on oil-filled and/or dry-type transformers.
· Ensure all tasks are performed using the necessary safety procedures and equipment.
· Work overtime and weekends as needed to meet customer needs and company objectives.
· Communicate with personnel to analyze work scope, current operational procedures, identify problems, and suggest improvements.
· Provide technical support to customers and shop/field personnel as necessary.
· Perform standard electrical testing, including Doble, Winding Resistance, TTR, and Insulation Resistance.
· Handle tasks such as untanking/tanking of core and coils, re-gasketing, core iron unstacking/stacking, removal/installation of coils, lead assembly, and tap changers with limited guidance.
· Conduct oil processing/handling with limited guidance.
· Maintain a professional attitude during interactions with customers, employees, vendors, and service providers.
· Follow all quality, safety, and environmental procedures, and report any noncompliance.
· Assist with special projects as assigned by Management, which may or may not become primary responsibilities.

· Department efficiencies, including low rework and warranty costs, manpower utilization, and work completed within estimated hours.
· High levels of customer satisfaction.
· Meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
· On-time completion of projects and service reports.

Qualifications:
· High school diploma required.
· In-depth knowledge of transformer repair and field service experience.
· Experience in field service, transformer repair, and project management.
· Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Excel and Word, and excellent customer interface experience.
· Hard-working, detail-oriented individual with the ability to direct personnel positively and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
· If the role involves operating a motor vehicle, must pass a motor vehicle record check.
