Transmission Line Tower Structure Design Engineer USA
Location: USA (Remote Working)
The Transmission Line Tower Structure Design Engineer is responsible for designing and analyzing transmission line towers for high voltage power systems. This includes ensuring that designs are safe, cost-effective, and meet all necessary standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Analysis: Independently complete the structural design of transmission lines up to 420 kV.
- Design transmission line towers (lattice, tubular steel, monopoles) for different voltages.
- Perform structural analysis using design software (e.g., PLS-TOWER, PLS-CADD).
- Account for various loads like wind and ice.
- Ensure designs follow industry standards and regulations.
- Stay updated on relevant design codes (e.g., ASCE, NESC).
- Create design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Work with drafting teams to produce construction drawings.
- Provide technical support during project execution.
- Assist with project schedules, cost estimates, and material specifications.
- Work with other engineers and teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Participate in design review meetings.
SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Education: Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Experience in transmission line tower design or similar roles.
- Experience in PLS TOWER and transmission line engineering
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., PLS-TOWER, SAP2000).
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
