Position Summary: Performs Remanufacturing duties in the Passenger Car Department.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Clean, sandblast and/or paint product and parts
+ Disassemble transmissions
+ Pack, label and palletize
+ Preassembles product.
+ Assembles transmission or valve body.
+ Inspects clean parts.
+ Performs related tasks as assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Previous mechanical, assembly or automotive experience
+ Knowledge of hand or pneumatic tools
+ Basic PC skills (on/off, read screen, toggle, use mouse, check inventory)
+ Must be able to read work instructions in English.
Preferred Skills and experience:
+ Previous lean manufacturing experience helpful.
+ Forklift or pallet jack experience
Reporting to Position: Reports to Team Leader, Passenger Car. Has no direct reports.
Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time; 60 minutes continuously up to 6 hours per 10 hour day, walk up to 2 miles per day, handle or feel objects and/or tools; operate power tools; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; bend, verbally communicate; and hear safety indicators. The associate must frequently an repetitively lift and /or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the associate is exposed to a remanufacturing floor atmosphere with some office exposure.
